Candidates in an opposite-sex relationship or in a same-sex relationship can apply for the visa. With this visa, you can live in the UK for 33 months. It can be extended for 30 months.

After five years of continuous residency in the UK with the Civil Partnership visa, you are eligible to apply for UK ILR. You can apply for British citizenship with a valid ILR after 12 months. As a Civil Partnership UK visa holder, you are authorized to live, work, and study in the UK till the validity of the visa.
