What is the IELTS syllabus?

• Listening

Four recorded monologues and conversations.

• Reading

The reading section comprises long reading passages with tasks. Non-verbal material includes graphs, diagrams, and illustrations.

• Writing

By summarizing, explaining, or describing a table, graph, diagram, or chart, you have to write an essay with at least 250 words.

• Speaking

The speaking round includes a face-to-face interview to test a person's speaking skills. This session contains familiar topics.

The IELTS test comprises four sections to test the English language ability of the participating person through Reading, listening, speaking. Writing skills will be tested during the exam.

Where can I take the IELTS Mock Test?

IELTS mock tests help assess your ability to attempt the examination. Along with IELTS coaching, Y-Axis also allows competitors to test their abilities with the help of free mock tests. Before the IELTS exam, competitors can review mock tests to assess their skills in each section. The IELTS exam lasts 2 hours and 44 minutes plus 10 minutes of transfer time. IELTS Score and Band

IELTS score ranges between 0 to 9. Even an individual can score .5, 7.5, 8.5, etc. An individual will achieve listening, writing, reading, and speaking sections (from 0 to 9) for each. The overall band score is calculated as the average of all the scores.

The IELTS band score is calculated by:

• The total band score was calculated by taking the mean of all four sections. For example, if you get a listening score of 7, a reading score of 7.5, a writing score of 8, and a speaking score of 7.5, then the overall score will be 7.5 bands.
• If your score ends with .25, the band score is rounded up to .5. That is, if your score is 7.25, it will be rounded off to 7.5.
• If your score ends with .75, the band score is rounded to the whole band. If your score is 7.75, it will be rounded to 8.
• If the score is below .25 or .75, then the score is rounded down. If your score is 7.21, it will be rounded to 7 bands.

IELTS Score Chart:

Students or migrants must score an IELTS score depending on the requirements of the migrating country/university. The Ideal IELTS score should be above seven bands. The band 7 indicates a good score.

What IELTS test should I take?

There are two types of IELTS exams: IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training.

The IELTS Academic can be taken if an individual wants to study in another English-speaking country before professional registration.

IELTS General Training Test can be taken if:

• work-related either training or experience
• Migrating to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand

IELTS Validity:

The IELTS score is valid for 2years from when the individual took the exam. There is no restriction regarding the exam. An individual can write it as many times as he wants. 

How to do IELTS Registration?

Step 1: Visit the IELTS official website.

Step 3: Fill up all the required information

Step 4: Book an appointment for the IELTS exam date and time.

Step 5: Check all the details once.

Step 6: Pay the IELTS registration fees.

Step 7: Click on the Register/Apply button.

Step 8: Confirmation will be sent to your registered mobile number

IELTS Eligibility

The candidate must meet the eligibility criteria for the IELTS exam:

• Applicant must be 16years old
• IELTS can be taken regardless of 12 grade percentage
• There is no upper age limit or qualification for the IELTS exam
• There is no limit to the number of attempts.
